George Clooney Opens Up On How He Proposed and What His Kids Are Like

The mostly private George Clooney is apparently a big softy. He recently opened up about how he proposed to his beautiful wife Amal. It was private evening with dinner at home. George says, “I’m the cook in the family. Believe me, Amal makes reservations. I did pasta of some form, not that impressive. And then over champagne, after dinner, I told her there was a lighter to light the candle in the drawer, and she reached back and pulled out a ring.”

A traditionalist, Clooney got down on one knee and made a loving speech as music from his late aunt Rosemary Clooney played in the background. He details, “‘Why Shouldn’t I?’ ‘Why shouldn’t I take a chance when romance passes by? / Why shouldn’t I know of love?’ It’s a really good song about why can’t I be in love? And it played, and she’s like, ‘Holy shit!’ And she just kept staring at the ring, going, ‘Oh, my God.’ It was 20 minutes of me on my knee, waiting for her to say yes, because she was so shocked.” Take notes fellas!

Now the pair are living happily with twin babies. Clooney says he sees the children’s personalities coming out already. For son Alexander,  “He’s a moose! Literally, he just sits and he eats.” As for daughter Ella, “She’s very elegant, and all eyes,” he said. “She looks like Amal, thank god.”
